The soldiers of the Guard of finance of Udine last November 3rd showed up at the headquarters of theUdinese Football to acquire new elements in the investigation into the alleged capital gains accrued in the balance sheets of some sports clubs. The investigation concerns the transfer of Rolando Mandrake, in 2018, from Juventus, for approximately 20 million euros and the “right of repurchase”. The hypothesis currently under consideration includes three types of crime: false accounting, obstruction of the exercise of the functions of the supervisory authorities and fraudulent declaration through false documents. The decree was notified by the Fiamme Gialle to the president of the Club, Franco Soldati, and to the vice president Stefano Campoccia, and to Udinese Calcio itself, called to answer on the basis of law 231 of 2001 on the specific criminal liability of legal persons, which the investigating magistrate has decided to enter in the register of suspects.
“A necessary activity, after our colleagues in Turin sent us the documents of our territorial competence – explained the Udine Prosecutor, Massimo Lia -. The searches served to acquire the data necessary to understand how, from an accounting perspective, the operation was managed and thus ascertain whether and, if so, which crimes to contest.
