In Naples and its province there are two super Camorra groups that compete for territory with a series of shootings, threats, reprisals and revenge: the Secondigliano Alliance and the Mazzarellas.
A global reality (in the Neapolitan world) which is also reflected in particulars such as in San Giovanni a Teduccio, a peripheral neighbourhood in the eastern area, where the Mazzarellas have historically been at war with the group Rinaldi, linked to theSecondigliano alliance.
The collaborator of justice Francesco Mazzarella explains the dynamics in a live broadcast on Tik Tok proposed by the profile “Il Tribunale”.
“My cousin (Gesualdo Sartori) at 30 years old he rules almost all of Naples. “- says the ex-boss- “nobody stops him, he only has in mind to kill his enemies and avenge our dead. The other day there was a shooting outside the Rinaldi house. I hope that one day they understand and go over to the side of the State like us.”
“Francesco Mazzarella's words certify what is a reality, which we denounce daily, well known by now even if we often pretend to forget about it.” - explains the deputy of the Green-left alliance Francesco Emilio Borrelli - “The city Camorra and that of the outskirts are very different from that of the hinterland and of Caserta which, following in the footsteps of Cosa Nostra in Sicily, have more entrepreneurial management and are more closely linked to political and administrative life, resulting in realities well rooted in the social fabric.
In the city, as well as at its gates, however, the clans, who take turns in a continuous turnover, due to their origins in urban and non-elitist crime, try to impose themselves with violence, oppression and actions from Far West aiming for 'everything and now'. A strategy that leads to many murdered people and not always among the ranks of criminal groups.
To counteract the camorra In the provinces you have to hit the top, here instead you have to eliminate the humus that determines those conditions that favor the proliferation of illicit markets and economies that the clans feed on and with which they attract laborers from the less well-off classes.
Cleaning up the markets, both large and small, reconverting them to legality would mean creating jobs and eliminating those social problems that fuel the Camorra phenomenon. This must be done together with arrests and convictions to stop those raving madmen who spread death and terror.”
