“Giulia we love you”: these are the words written next to a giant photograph of Giulia that from today will remain on display on the walls of the Town Hall of vigonovo, in the province of Venice and the Library of the cultural center of Saonara, in the province of Padua, the town where Giulia Cecchettin grew up and lived.
“The photo was chosen by the family – explains the mayor of Saonara Michela Lazarus -, we must keep Giulia's smile in our minds and hearts.
May Giulia's sweetness, goodness and purity be the strength to move forward. We share the will of her father Gino and her sister Elena for a concrete commitment to combat the social scourge of violence against women, so that no other family and no other community should experience such excruciating pain".
The mayor of Vigonovo, Luca Martello, announces: “We will keep it on display until the end of the month. Saturday, November 25 is the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. This is also how we want to demonstrate the role of institutions in providing concrete answers. I can say that all the Municipalities, not only in November, are committed to this front.
As a man I say that we should pay attention to men, families, associations, institutions, and teach that in life you can also lose and that after a defeat you can start again".
