
Soldiers from the Reggio Calabria Provincial Command of the Guardia di Finanza have captured, in the Locride area, an unidentified fugitive, the subject of a precautionary custody order issued by the investigating judge of the Trento Court.
The man, who was caught by financial police while celebrating his birthday with his family, had escaped capture last May during an investigation conducted by the Trento Financial Police, assisted by personnel from the SCICO and under the direction of the Trentino District Attorney's Office.

The investigation involved 47 individuals, 26 of whom were foreign nationals (Colombia, Morocco, Albania, and Syria). Based on the investigative findings, the man is accused of being part of a transnational criminal organization dedicated to laundering money from international drug trafficking for South American cartels, through a dense network of international brokers.
The investigations that led to the identification of the organization were conducted through the international judicial cooperation instruments of 27 foreign countries (including the United States, France, Germany, Spain, and Colombia) and international police cooperation channels.
