Naples will be the European Capital of Sport 2026. The designation was made official this morning by the president of Aces Europe, Gian Francesco Lupattelli.
“We are achieving a goal we have always believed in.
The designation of Napoli which European Capital of Sport 2026 – underlines the mayor Gaetano Manfredi - it is the recognition of the goodness of the work we are carrying out to promote the value of sport in terms of competition and the ability to create community.
The collaboration of all the institutions will be fundamental for the relaunch of our facilities, so that we are ready for the 2026 event, which represents a prestigious international showcase for our city”.
“Naples European Capital of Sport 2026 seemed like an impossible challenge and now it has become reality. This recognition will be an incentive to increasingly place Sport at the center of the strategic decisions of the municipal administration – declared the Sports Councillor Emanuela Ferrante – not only for its social and educational value, but also as an attraction for special and quality tourism”.
