The financiers of the Provincial Command of Guardia di Finanza di Napoli, following investigative activities coordinated by the Public Prosecutor's Office at the Court of Nola, have executed an order ordering the house arrest of 3 suspects and the seizure of valuables worth 1,2 million euros, as well as a commercial fuel depot and 6 tankers, as they were instrumental in the commission of the crimes.
The investigations of the Nola Group were started following the seizure on the road of a tanker truck carrying diesel fuel for motor vehicles in quantities far greater than that indicated in the accompanying documents.
The subsequent investigations subsequently crystallized a fraudulent mechanism through which fuels of illicit origin were released for consumption in evasion of excise duties.
In particular, the Fiamme Gialle Nolane have reconstructed numerous episodes that occurred at the hands of a commercial warehouse located in the municipality of Acerra (NA) which made use of a compliant transport company, based in Cercola (NA). fuel of illicit origin, once it left the warehouse without the covering of documents required by the excise legislation, it was unloaded using previously identified company tankers.
An important role was played by a third company, also operating in the fuel trade sector, which, by acting as an accounting warehouse for excise purposes, made it possible to shield the illicit origin of the fuels purchased from the commercial warehouse.
The legal representatives of the commercial warehouse, the transport company and the accounting warehouse were affected by the personal precautionary measure.
The investigations revealed significant damage to the Treasury coffers as, from December 2021 to February of the following year, there was an illicit release for consumption in the Campania region of a total of 1.366.981 litres of diesel fuel for automotive use and 536.694 litres of super unleaded petrol, which produced an evaded excise duty amounting to a total of €1.234.902.
In light of the investigative evidence collected, the GIP at the Court of Nola also ordered in the order the precautionary seizure aimed at safeguarding money for a value equal to the amount of the evaded excise duty, allowing, in the event of unavailability of money, the seizure, for an equivalent value, of assets attributable to the four suspects.
During the operations, financial assets held by credit institutions for €630.386 were seized, as well as company shares, for a value of €604.515.
