On the occasion of the 15th edition of “M'ammalia”, promoted by the Italian Teriological Association, Città della Scienza is offering a rich program of events in which mammals are the protagonists.
Visitors will be “enchanted” by a class, which also includes the human species, which includes organisms large, small, that breastfeed and, in some cases simultaneously, produce eggs. Between curiosities and characteristics, the little visitors will discover how their protection is essential also for our survival.
The little ones, from 3 to 6 years old, will be able to participate in the laboratory game “Migrations” in which they will go on a fascinating geographical journey, following animals and plant species that have transformed the 'barriers' into points of contact and discovering how a small seed thrown into the air can, thanks to the wind and water, grow everywhere and give birth to life.
The interactive lab “To Each His Own Environment” will guide the public on a virtual journey to discover the various ecosystems of the Earth and its inhabitants to understand the differences, characteristics and specific adaptations of each.
Finally, a fascinating science show, “Mammals: A Question of 'Class'!” will demonstrate the strange and peculiar adaptations of mammals, a group of animals comprising more than 5000 species, ranging from a few grams in weight to 150 tons, but with the common characteristic of breastfeeding their offspring and being more or less hairy.
There will be no shortage of guided tours of the interactive museum of the human body, Corporea, the Insects & Co. exhibition and shows at the Planetarium.
