The Vomero Suona festival continues on the stage of the Salvo D'Acquisto Auditorium in via Morghen, which on Friday 3 November will welcome Lalla Esposito & Napoli Nord Big Band with their musical project “Smile… la vita in 35 mm”.
A Big band and a voice, that of the Neapolitan singer and actress Lalla Esposito, to perform the ritual that has always seduced our lives, that is, “The Cinema”, the films that remain in our soul through the images, but above all, through the music that tells us about them and that remains indelible in our mind even after years, listening again by chance to the notes that made a film unforgettable.
The soundtracks performed during this show do not follow a logical thread, neither by era nor by style, but are only linked to the desired, or rather I would say sought, chance, the same chance with which they entered our lives, from Toto's "Double or Nothing" to "Moon River" (Breakfast at Tiffany's), from "Cabaret" to "Smile" by Charlie Chaplin, from "Mambo Italiano" by De Sica and Loren to "Dolce Vita" of Fellini memory, set to music by Nino Rota.
And it is with these premises that the talented Lalla Esposito, accompanied by the Napoli Nord Big Band, a jazz orchestra recently formed and which aims, in a short time, to become a solid cultural reality of our city, directed by maestro Di Colandrea and with the arrangements of maestro Napolitano, will make those present experience the great sensations of a world full of charm such as that of the big screen and its timeless heroes.
It will certainly be a nice journey into the taste of cinematographic film which, as the protagonist of Tornatore's film "Nuovo Cinema Paradiso" said, "if you lick it, it tastes good."
Arrangements M° Mimmo Napolitano
Direction Maestro Giuseppe Di Colandrea
