In Pozzuoli, new reports of apartment burglaries are arriving. In fact, the number of burglars who attempt, often succeeding, to break into other people's homes to burgle them is increasing. This time, however, the attempt in the area of Via Solfatara by yet another thief to violate the hearth of a Pozzuoli family was unsuccessful. While the criminal, after having entered the terrace of the house, was trying to force the shutter, the owners, who were outside at the time, were alerted by the surveillance system and so, via the connection with the video cameras, they ordered the thief to leave. Which he did.
The homeowner contacted the Green-Left MP to report the incident: "I'm sending you the video from the security camera on my terrace. Fortunately, the attempted burglary was foiled. The internal cameras show that, before climbing over, he opened the building's front door in a split second and rang the doorbell repeatedly. Naturally, he was immediately reported to the police. Now I'll beef up the security systems to have more peace of mind, having a young girl at home. But theft cases are increasing dramatically, and many don't report them."
“It is important that everyone reports.” - comments Borrelli together with the city councilor of Pozzuoli of Europa Verde Enzo Pafundi - “Even if the theft attempts are unsuccessful or if the thieves' loot is of little value. Only in this way will the police be able to have a complete picture of the situation and accurately assess the seriousness of the phenomenon and take, consequently, the relative countermeasures. What is needed, however, is clear: to strengthen the video surveillance system, more officers on the streets and certain and harsher sentences.”
