The investigating judge of the Ascoli Piceno court Annalisa Giusti has granted house arrest to Roberta De Berardinis and Danile De Berardinis, in prison since August 4th on charges of being the instigators of the aggravated robbery against an Ascoli businessman, Maurizio Borgioni, which took place in Ascoli on April 27th.
Robbery that would have been materially committed by Ivan Mele (detained in the Taranto prison) with the complicity of another individual, not yet identified. The lawyers of the De Berardinis brothers have presented a plea bargaining request, following which the Prosecutor's Office has given a favorable opinion to the mitigation of the precautionary measure.
The robbery was allegedly a retaliation by Roberta De Berardinis against Borgioni, her husband who was in the process of separating. Her brother Danile allegedly contacted Mele, who, with an accomplice, pretended to be a Guardia di Finanza agent and had him hand over 10 euros and a Rolex.
A man originally from Naples, an employee of Borgioni's company (later fired), an entrepreneur in the packaging sector, is being investigated at large for the same crimes; the man allegedly participated in organizing the robbery.
