The group of pushers capable of making 100 deliveries a day, led by the Romano family, and linked to the Vinella Grassi clan, had organized an efficient and widespread drug dealing system, which functioned like a delivery service.
An order taker answered the phone, while others, on scooters, took care of delivering the drugs to people's homes.
The drugs, mainly cocaine, were sold in Secondigliano, San Carlo Arena, Vasto, Arenaccia, Poggioreale, and also crossed the border into Casoria and Casavatore.
Among those arrested are: Salvatore Romano, 50 years old, former smuggler known as “Totore Marlboro” considered the head of the organization; Daniele Romano, 28 years old, son of Salvatore; Giuseppina Esposito, wife of Romano; Antonio Russo, 35 years old and Cristoforo Alfano, 59 years old. Under investigation at large are Giancarlo Di Giorgio, 29 years old;
Rosario Fiorentino, 32 years old and Antonio Esposito, 27 years old.
The investigation, coordinated by the North Naples prosecutor's office , began in 2021, following the arrest of Antonio Russo on drug charges.
Investigators intercepted telephone conversations of members of the organization, which revealed the drug dealing system.
In a conversation, - as reported by Il Roma - Salvatore Romano states: "No offense, we've been together for 20 years (editor's note) and let's put the… we'll all do cocaine at the same level".
On another occasion, Daniele Romano asks Antonio Russo: “But how many calls do you still have?”, to which the other replies: “Seven”.
These conversations, along with other evidence, led to the arrest of the five. The five arrested are expected today for preliminary hearing before the investigating judge.
