The NAS of Salerno has intensified controls in the sectors of the marketing of children's play products, the production and supply of food on the occasion of the Halloween holiday.
Specifically, the inspections led to the administrative seizure of 1692 toy packages and 262 play items, including masks, pumpkin and skeleton decorations, Halloween lights, toy guns, and balloons. These items were found in three commercial establishments located in the provinces of Salerno and Avellino. All items were on sale and were found to be—for varying reasons—lacking the CE mark, the Italian-language labeling, and the mandatory consumer information.
Furthermore, a quintal of confectionery products found in various shops in the province of Salerno were seized, which were found to lack the traceability information necessary to guarantee food safety.
For the violations related to the irregularities detected, administrative sanctions of 14.500 euros were contested, while the overall value of the seized products and foods is estimated at approximately 4.000 euros.
