“Transport Minister who doubts Turetta's guilt because he is white, because he is 'from a good family'. This too is violence, state violence."

Giulia Cecchettin's sister Elena wrote this in an Instagram story, commenting on Matteo Salvini's post in which he wrote, referring to Turetta's arrest in Germany, 'if guilty, no reduction in sentence and life imprisonment'.
In the story, Elena cites a post by writer and activist Carlotta Vagnoli in which the latter recalls that the League “together with FdI, which however chose to abstain, voted against the ratification of the Istanbul Convention in May”.
“So – she concludes -, in case you wanted other reasons to understand how femicide is a state murder”. In a subsequent story, instead, Elena Ceccettin invites her followers to participate in the demonstration called for tomorrow at 19:30 pm at Porta Portello, in Padua, against violence against women and during which Giulia will also be remembered.
“I will never shut up. You will never shut me up”
Elena Cecchettin, who since the disappearance of her sister Giulia had suspected her ex-boyfriend Filippo Turetta, then added, quoting the writer Carlotta Vagnoli: “A minister whose party (together with FdI, which however chose to abstain), in May voted against the ratification of the Istanbul Convention.
So, in case you wanted more reasons to understand how femicide is state murder.” In a previous Instagram story, her sister Elena wrote, “I will never shut up. You will never shut me up.”
Salvini then tries to repair the gaffe: "Filippo's guilt is evident to me and to everyone"
In a post following the controversy, the deputy prime minister wrote on Instagram: “For murderers, life imprisonment, with compulsory labor. For rapists and pedophiles, of any nationality, skin color and social status, chemical castration and prison.
This is what the League has always proposed, we hope that others will finally support us and follow us. Obviously, as the Constitution provides, after a conviction established in court, hoping for quick times and no do-goodism, even if Filippo's guilt seems evident to me and to everyone".
