Public transportation in Naples was subject to a bomb scare this morning on Metro Line 1. A suspicious trolley was left unattended in Toledo, causing the stations to close and the Carabinieri to be alerted. The Carabinieri bomb squad intervened to control the situation, and train service was suspended for an hour. Fortunately, the trolley turned out to be full of clothes and posed no danger.
After the checks, it was discovered that the trolley abandoned on Via Toledo contained only old clothes.
