“The ruling of the Council of State has restored justice on the blindness of the Campania Region, which denied care allowance to a family unit that assists an autistic person”. Thus the MEP Chiara Gem (Fdi-Ecr) shortly before participating in the plenary session at Stasburg, where the agenda also includes the discussion of the fees and charges payable by the European Medicines Agency.
The MEP comments positively on the decision that involved the lead Municipality of the territorial area C7 and the ASL of Caserta of December 6th last (third section). “The ruling of the Council of State is a victory for caregivers – continues Gemma, member of the European Parliament's intergroup on Disability – because previously, according to the criteria established by the Region, the autistic person was classified at level three of severity”.
The Council of State has, in fact, accepted a series of appeals, sponsored by the lawyer Luigi Adinolfi, completely overturning the TAR's response and establishing that people with autism spectrum disorders should be placed first in the priority scale for care allowances. “It is a sentence that highlights the failing points of a regional policy that on the front ofautism it's the tail light – Gemma urges – finally there are judges who put caregivers back at the center”.
