“We will carefully follow the development of the case concerning the employee of the San Giuseppe retirement home for the elderly in Capri, a structure owned by the Parish and currently managed by the San Costanzo Foundation, which was fired after having reported inefficiencies in the assistance to the elderly hosted in the facility where he worked.
We will try to delve deeper into the dynamics that led to the dismissal of the lady and to understand what is the fate of the sixteen elderly people hospitalized in the facility. We are concerned about the hypothesis that behind such behaviors, quite questionable and in any case to be clarified, different objectives for the use of the facility may be hidden.
We will be vigilant to ensure that Capri does not lose an essential facility dedicated to its most vulnerable elderly people, to those who are in difficulty”, declared the deputy of the Green Left Alliance, Francesco Emilio Borrelli, to whom the case was reported.
“I am deeply concerned about the future of the elderly I have assisted for years and who still continue to call me even at night,” says Giovanna Acampora, who was fired following her report on the poor service.
“It all started with a voice message on WhatsApp in which, desperate for help from the elderly, I contacted the Bishop and the Mayor, reporting the fact that the poor old people were angry about the delay in serving breakfast and the unacceptable conditions in which they found themselves.
The response was a double letter of objection from the parson, who claims that I violated the principles of fairness and good faith. I am bitter about the treatment I received. Everyone knows how much love and devotion I put into my work, with how much care and passion I worked at the nursing home doing practically everything, and now I am being punished because I tried to protect those elderly people”.
