Like a bolt from the blue, Caturano, part of the mixed group in the council, announced that he had decided to leave the local section of the Democratic Party. A decision that was in the air after a series of misunderstandings that would have pushed the president to take the extreme decision, thus giving an initial jolt.
"After much thought," said the now ex-Dem, Caturano, "I am leaving the local party but not the regional one. I am not doing it lightly. But it makes no sense to continue after the situations that have been created. I have dignity and coherence."
Among the reasons, most likely, is the new political situation of the local Democratic Party which, says Caturano, “contrasts with my ideals, my inclusive vision and shared choices and therefore I want to be free even at the cost of having an uncomfortable position as long as I do not lose my autonomy”.
But the straw that broke the camel's back would have been the difference of views on the political management of the Democratic Party which would be, according to the councilor and president, not very respectful of the positions of the political exponents. It is not excluded that a new political group could be born in the council, therefore, given that the local dynamics would be in full swing.
"In these years of militancy in the Democratic Party - concludes Caturano - I am very sure that I have given a lot and that I have received only and exclusively the consensus of the voters. In the Municipality I am engaged in the hard work of a city councilor, which unfortunately has often crashed under the weight of internal frictions and external tensions".
Even though Caturano's rapprochement with the Democratic Party is subsequent to his election in the civic list Idea Democratica, the decision will not be free of repercussions. In the meantime, while the parties clash and confront each other, in Casavatore the Christmas activities put in place by the municipal administration are starting and have been met with great success. In short, a bitter Christmas for the Democratic Party that could reserve future and further surprises in the current political structure and future alliances.
