An 11-year-old boy in Alfano, Cilento, in the province of Salerno. A firecracker exploded and hit him in the face, causing severe trauma to his right eye. According to medical personnel later determined, he will no longer be able to see.
The child was immediately rescued at the scene of the explosion and rushed to the San Luca Hospital in Vallo della Lucania, where he underwent delicate surgery by the ophthalmology team led by Dr. Olga Voto, assisted by Dr. Luigi Filippo Magno.
