After ten years, the trial for the collapse of a portion of Palazzo Guevara di Bovino, which occurred on the morning of March 4, 2013 in the area of Chiaia a Napoli.

The Court of Naples sentenced Giuseppe Annunziata, Federico Moccia, Raffaele Imparato, Angelo Ribecco, Antonio Liguori, Mario Barbati and Gabriele Santangelo to two years of imprisonment, with a suspended sentence, for manslaughter.
Instead they were acquitted, for not having committed the act, both from the charge of disaster and of negligent collapse: Ciro De Luca, Giorgio Mormone, Angiolino Belizzi, Ettore Sacco, Paolo Santangelo, Luigi Nardacci and Vincenzo Scotti.
Stefano Aversa and Gino Zanchini were instead sentenced to one year and six months of imprisonment, with a suspended sentence.
The ruling held that the collapse was caused by a construction defect in the bulkheads 18 metres deep, during construction work on the metro.
The prosecutor Federica D'Amodio of the Public Prosecutor's Office Napoli, on the basis of a report signed by the experts Augenti and Prezioso, had requested convictions more severe for all defendants.
The verdict comes 10 years after the collapse
The trial was long and complex, and involved numerous professionals and institutions. The verdict was welcomed by the civil parties, who requested damages of 10 million euros.
