Four people died following the fire that broke out late yesterday evening in the hospital in Tivoli. These arethe two men and two women, all patients of the facility who died of intoxication while one died of a heart attack. A fourth person died shortly before the fire broke out. Dozens of patients evacuated from the Tivoli hospital, and were transferred to the nearby municipal gym, set up by the local Civil Protection with blankets, pillows and camp beds. The mayor of Tivoli wrote on social media, Giuseppe Proietti.“The Maramotti municipal gymnasium – Proietti informs – it is used as a transit facility for patients who will wait here to be transferred by ambulance to other hospital facilities”.The flames have been put out and safety operations underway. The fire is said to have started in some rooms where some outpatient clinics are located. The rooms are on the -2 floor of the hospital and from there the flames are said to have reached the emergency room and the intensive care unit. Other departments are said to have remained untouched, but the very thick smoke has invaded the entire hospital and for this reason the evacuation of the entire structure has become necessary.
