Last night, a pizzeria in Casoria was targeted by a theft. The thieves, four people, broke into the place around 4 am, forcing the shutter. They took the cash register, the tablets for orders and the boys' tip box, for a value of about 400 euros. The damage caused, however, was greater than the value of the stolen goods.
The pizzeria's owner, Giuseppe, has lived in Avellino for 16 years, where he moved to escape the escalation of crime raging in Casoria.
"We had recently reopened my grandmother's pizzeria, encouraged by the love of the people in the neighborhood.", says Giuseppe.
"In a short time they made me fall back into the past"Francesco Emilio Borrelli, MP for the Green-Left Alliance, commented on the episode: "There is a never-ending criminal escalation underway that threatens the safety of citizens and businesses on a daily basis. We must respond quickly to the demands for security coming from the local communities, increasing the police presence on the ground and implementing video surveillance systems installed on the streets."
The theft at the Casoria pizzeria is just the latest in a long string of crimes affecting the area. Law enforcement must step up checks and implement security systems to ensure the safety of residents and businesses.
