The “Professional qualification course for art gardeners for historic gardens and parks” will start in January, funded by the Campania Region and managed by the Bridge training body in collaboration with the Pompeii Archaeological Park, the REAM Company, a specialized green maintenance company and with the support of Il Tulipano soc coop sociale, already involved in social agriculture projects in the Park with children with autism and/or cognitive disabilities.
The course will take place largely at the Archaeological Park of Pompeii, which for years has invested in the management, maintenance and enhancement of the greenery and landscape of the archaeological areas, as well as in the historical reconstruction of the gardens of the domus, through the Park's nursery, a true agricultural study laboratory for the production of "ancient" crops.
The training includes a free 600-hour course capable of training professionals able to intervene in the process of conservation, renovation, maintenance and restoration of historic gardens and parks, public or private, respecting their original forms and enhancing their historical, material culture, architectural, environmental and landscape peculiarities, through the use of the techniques and materials most suitable for the type of intervention to be carried out.
The call-program includes 150 hours of theoretical lessons at the Pompeii and Naples offices, 150 hours of online training, 120 hours of laboratory and 180 hours of internship at the Pompeii Archaeological Park and local companies. The courses will start in January 2024.
20 participants and 4 auditors will be selected through written and oral tests among those who submit their application to participate no later than 18:00 on 27/12/2023.
The program of lessons includes topics and insights into botany, agronomy, landscape, archaeology, restoration, surveying, cultivation techniques, safety, IT, management practices.
At the end of the course, a certificate will be issued enabling you to carry out the green maintenance activity, art. 12 law number 154/2016 and agreement between the State and Regions Conference - 22 February 2018.
