Second appointment with Mediterranea | Cinema and music between two worlds: Thursday 14 December it's the turn of Il Cinema di , regista femminista italiana naturalizzata svizzera, con la proiezione di Vogliamo anche le rose (h 15), una masterclass sul cinema e le questioni di genere (h 16.30) moderata da Gina Annunziata, docente di Storia del Cinema all’Accademia di Belle Arti di Napoli e la proiezione di Un’ora sola ti vorrei (h 18.00).

We also want roses analyses the birth and development of the feminist movement in Italy in the 1970s, through the diaries and intimate experiences of three women who grew up in different social and cultural environments: the marches, the debate on abortion, divorce, relationships, women's work, female sexuality experienced in a totally new way, feminist meetings.

In Un'ora sola ti vorrei una figlie (Alina Marazzi) she reconstructs the face and history of her mother (Luisa Marazzi Hoepli) through her grandfather's films. A tribute to the memory of a loved one she never knew and for this reason even more desired. The film is a montage of materials from the director's personal archive. It was awarded Best Italian Documentary at the 2003 Turin Film Festival.

During the masterclass, the public will be able to discuss with the director her poetics, the themes addressed and the representation of women in cinema. The Mediterranea | Cinema and music between the two worlds review, curated by 15 06 film, is dedicated to the meeting between the Neapolitan public and different cultures. Created and directed by director Elisa Flaminia Inno, it brings together authors, directors and musicians in Naples, together with stories of women close in geography and culture, but distant in existential condition. The directors of the films will be present in the room and protagonists of meetings and masterclasses open to the public.

The initiative is promoted and financed by the Municipality of Naples as part of the Altri Natali review, part of the Natale a Napoli 2023 project created with the funding of the Metropolitan City of Naples and the Municipality of Naples.

All appointments are at the Auditorium Santa Luisa di Marillac, Via Andrea D'Isernia 23, (corner of Via Arco Mirelli) Naples.

Alina Marazzi 

Director of documentaries, films and theatre, she trained in London in the 80s. During her career she has dedicated herself to directing documentaries for television, worked as an assistant director for cinema and collaborated with some artistic realities, such as Studio Azzurro and Fabrica, and social, holding video workshops in prison. Her research focuses on female subjectivity and the images of memory.

Un'ora sola ti vorrei (2002) is her first documentary film, followed by: Per Sempre (2005), a documentary on female seclusion, and the feature film Voglio anche le rose (2007), which tells the story of women in the decade of sexual liberation.

In 2012, Tutto parla di te was released in theaters, a feature film about the dark side of motherhood starring Charlotte Rampling and Elena Radonicich. In the film, fiction is intertwined with other artistic languages: dance, animation, auteur photography, archive footage. She received the Tao Due Camera d'Oro award for best emerging director at the 2012 Rome Film Festival. In 2018, she became a professor at the IULM University of Milan in the master's degree in Storytelling Arts, holding the course "Cinematic storytelling: documentary film". She has received numerous awards and recognitions from international festivals and is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Fondazione Cineteca di Bologna and of the Artistic Committee of the Teatro dell'Arte Triennale Milano. She holds lessons and seminars in schools in Italy and abroad and is the author of the short stories Baby Blues (in Tu sei lei, Minimum Fax, 2008) and Sentimento (in Parola di Donna, Ponte alle Grazie, 2011) and of the entry “madre” in the Zingarelli 2015 dictionary.
