An 11-year-old girl, one of the cousins gang-raped in Caivano, wrote a heartbreaking letter to her mother in which she tells her that she misses her terribly.

The girl is currently in a foster home with her younger sister, while her 16-year-old brother is in another facility. Her mother, however, is in a different center after the shocking events in Caivano's Parco Verde emerged.

In the letter, the little girl writes: "Mom, I miss you so much. When will I see you again? I feel alone and scared. I just want to be with you."

The family's lawyers have filed several petitions demanding the immediate lifting of the total block on contact between family members, both physical and telephone.

The lawyer Angelo Pisani, who defends the family, declared: "Such treatment is not even reserved for prisoners who have the right to visits from their families in prison."

"After such a serious crime, one would expect that all family members would be protected."Pisani added. "And after the pain of what happened to her daughter, now also the injustice of seeing every connection with her children effectively erased, all locked up in foster homes without any sign of humanity."

According to psychologists, separation from the mother is further damaging to the little girl and especially to the mother, who risks her life.

The story of the little girl from Caivano is an example of how bureaucracy can sometimes be crueler than justice. The little girl's family members are victims of a horrible crime and, instead of being helped, they were punished.
