On Friday afternoon, a citizen went to the Police Station offices Posillipo to report a series of suspicious calls from an unknown number. The caller, an unidentified individual, had asked her for the sum of 1000 euros as a condition for the return of her car, previously stolen in Corso Vittorio Emanuele a few days earlier.
While filing the complaint, the woman received another call from the same number. A police officer intervened directly, managing the conversation and managing to arrange a meeting place to hand over the money.
As a result, the officers headed to Viale Comandante Umberto Maddalena, the designated meeting place.

Shortly thereafter, two young men in a car arrived at the meeting place. Once they got out of the vehicle, they attempted to retrieve the package containing the money, but were immediately apprehended by officers on standby, supported by a patrol from the Secondigliano police station. Furthermore, one of the suspects was found in possession of a car diagnostic unit.
As a result of these circumstances, the two individuals, aged 21 and 24, respectively, the latter with a criminal record, were arrested for attempted extortion. The complainant's car was later found in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele and returned to its rightful owner.
