“We welcome the proposal of the Club Napoli Parlamento to name a street or a sports facility in memory of Antonio Juliano.A flag and sporting icon of our city, Juliano will be remembered with justice by Naples”.
This is what the mayor of Naples, Gaetano Manfredi, wrote in X, accepting the request of the Club Napoli Parlamento in honor of the historic captain of Napoli, who died yesterday.
“We agree with the words of Mayor Manfredi and the press release from Napoli Club Parlamento: a street or facility must be named after a champion of the people and a true Neapolitan like Antonio Juliano as soon as possible. This is also why the PD group has already sent a formal note to the Department of Toponymy, represented by Deputy Mayor Laura Lieto, so that all the necessary documents can be prepared”.

So says Gennaro Acampora, leader of the Democratic Party in the Naples City Council.
“We will make sure that a suitable location or facility is chosen that is suited to the rank of man and athlete that Juliano was able to embody – adds Acampora – we want this choice to also be the way to bring many young people and very young people closer to the discovery and rediscovery of what he was as a man and athlete, his example as a captain and footballer first and then as a manager, always offering a unique attachment to the shirt and the blue colors”.
