In conjunction with the Christmas holidays, the Guardia di Finanza of the Provincial Command of Salerno has intensified checks at commercial establishments throughout the province: in the crosshairs, the sale of unsafe products and potentially dangerous for the health of buyers.
Precisely within the scope of these interventions, on three different occasions, the Yellow Flames of the Cava de' Tirreni Company and Agropoli, after targeted and careful inspections, identified various commercial establishments, in the municipalities of Cava de' Tirreni, Angri and Agropoli, which had set up a large part of the shop with various items, including numerous Christmas decorations, ready for sale.
From a careful examination of the goods, numerous products were found not to comply with the provisions of the Consumer Code, as they lacked the minimum identifying information, such as data relating to the manufacturer/importer, the country of origin, the nature of the materials used for their production, which by law must be present on the packaging or on the respective labels, in a visible, legible manner and in Italian.
The use of such wording, in fact, guarantees the final consumer awareness of the quality of the product he is about to purchase and, above all, its use in complete safety.
Therefore, the irregular goods, quantified in almost 65 thousand products, of which over 11.000 Christmas products, have been subjected to administrative seizure and the managers of the commercial activities, reported to the competent Chamber of Commerce, now risk a foreseen fine ranging from a minimum of 516 to a maximum of over 25 thousand Euros.
The trade of non-genuine and unsafe products damages the market, taking away opportunities and work from companies that instead comply with the strict dictates of sector regulations, introducing quality items into the market that, by respecting the imposed safety standards, effectively protect the health of consumers.
