A young man of 31, Roberto Hardworking, was found dead in the courtyard of his home in San Felice a Cancello, in the hamlet of Cancello Scalo. On his body, at shoulder height, he had a series of stab wounds, the fatal one on his right collarbone.
The 118 paramedics who arrived on the scene could do nothing but confirm the death.
Carabinieri from the local station, coordinated by the Maddaloni Company, arrived at the scene of the murder and began their investigation.
The most likely theory is homicide. According to some witnesses, the tragedy occurred following a heated family argument between Roberto and his father. Victor Hardworking, which was also attended by the mother.
The two apparently began arguing inside the house and then moved outside. Roberto may have wanted to escape and was chased by his father, who caught up with him and, at the height of the argument, in a fit of rage, fatally stabbed him with a knife.

The father, an employee of the provincial body of Napoli With a passion for dogs, when the Carabinieri arrived, with tears in his eyes and very agitated, he reportedly said he didn't want to kill him. He was immediately arrested and taken to the police station for questioning, where he will be held at the disposal of the magistrate.
The mother, in shock, was found by the police collapsed next to the lifeless body of her son. Struck by a sudden illness, the woman was then rescued by a second ambulance, which administered a tranquilizer; she also continued to repeat that her husband did not want to kill their son.
The motive
The reason for the argument was not clear even to some family members, who immediately rushed to the scene and wanted to try to understand what had really happened.
Initial reports suggest the father was defending his wife, who had been verbally assaulted by the young man. Some witnesses stated that this wasn't the first time there had been moments of tension in the family. There had also been a heated argument a few days before Christmas.
The victim
Roberto spent his free time right in the courtyard, where he was found lifeless: he trained every day being a boxing enthusiast. He even hung a punching bag from a tree and often hosted friends, with whom he prepared for some amateur competition. Every now and then he also went to the gym but he was not assiduous.
The thirty-one-year-old, engaged to a local girl, had two brothers: one moved to Treviso a few years ago, where he found work, while the other lives in Rome.
