Illegal firecrackers: two brothers from Sant'Arpino were arrested by Carabinieri from the Operations Section of the Operations and Radiomobile Unit of the Marcianise Company.

Yesterday afternoon, during targeted checks aimed at preventing and repressing the possession and sale of illegal pyrotechnic devices, they were found in possession of over 60 kg of explosive material in a private home in the municipality of Sant'Arpino, in the Caserta area, of which 25 kg consisted of improvised and extremely dangerous devices, all illegally detained.

The fireworks, as well as the explosive devices, were found by the military during the search carried out inside the cellar, belonging to the home of one of the arrested.

Given the quantity of material and the instability of the gunpowder, the recovery operations were carried out with the technical support of the Carabinieri Artificieri Antisabotaggio of the Provincial Command of Caserta and entrusted, in judicial custody, to a specialized company.

The arrested, a 32-year-old and a 37-year-old, already known to the police, were taken to the barracks and locked up in the security cells at the disposal of the competent judicial authority. They will have to answer, respectively, for illegal possession of explosive material, illegal manufacturing or trade of explosive materials, failure to report explosive materials and resisting a public official.
