The fugitive boss Gabriele Pesacane was captured this morning at dawn in a building on Corso Alcide De Gasperi in Scafati.
The 48-year-old, believed to be the leader of the clan of the same name operating in the municipalities of Boscoreale and Boscotrecase, escaped capture during the raid on October 11th, making 21 arrests. His four brothers, the boss Giuseppe Pesacane, and then Francesco, Pasquale, and Salvatore, were also arrested.
Gabriele Pesacane, like the other arrests in the October blitz, had been hit by an order for the application of a personal precautionary measure of custody in prison issued by the GIP of the Court of Naples, at the request of the Public Prosecutor's Office of Naples - District Anti-Mafia Directorate.
He is accused of mafia-type criminal association, association for the purpose of drug trafficking as well as various crimes-purpose, committed with "mafia methods" and with the aim of facilitating the organization Camorra called “Pesacane”, operating in the territory of Boscoreale and surrounding municipalities.
Gabriele "Sandro" Pesacane managed loan sharking on behalf of the clan
Gabriele Pesacane, nicknamed "Sandro," was the financier and custodian of the weapons and laundered the proceeds from loan sharking in a flower and cemetery item shop in Terzigno and at fuel stations through front men.
He had become a real nightmare for the local traders who turned to him for usurious loans. Threats and very high interest rates pushed many to sell their businesses to the same boss.
In recent weeks his brother Francesco Pesacane was released from prison.
