In Scafati in recent days the Guardia di Finanza of the Provincial Command of Salerno, during activities aimed at economic control of the territory, subjected to criminal seizure a large quantity of explosive material.
The material was concentrated inside a commercial activity without an appropriate license in the Municipality of Scafati.
In particular, during an initiative intervention resulting from the in-depth analysis of some info-investigative inputs, the Guardia di Finanza of the Scafati Company seized illegally held pyrotechnic "artifices", for a total active mass calculated at over 140 kg.

This operation originated from the intensification of activities to combat the illegal sale of fireworks during the New Year's Eve festivities. The military discovered that the suspect, an expert bomb disposal expert, was hiding inside the premises, in addition to the conventional pyrotechnic devices held without a license, as many as 259 home-made devices.
Given the dangerousness of the goods in question and the large quantity of items seized, the actual owner was reported to the competent Judicial Authority, both for the crime of illegal possession of explosive material.
The goods subject to precautionary constraint had a retail value of more than thirty thousand euros.
