At the Teatro Bolivar (Via Bartolomeo Caracciolo, 30), directed by Nu'Tracks, Saturday 23 December, at 21.00:XNUMX pm, it is already sold out for “La Nuova Compagnia Di Canto Popolare” in “Anima di Terra Tour – Concerto di Natale”. The following will be on stage: Fausta Vetere, Gianni Lamagna, Michele Signore, Pasquale Ziccardi, Carmine Bruno, Marino Sorrentino and Umberto Maisto.
The show “Anima di Terra Tour” starts from afar. In 1520 Magellan, circumnavigating the southern coasts of Argentina aboard the ship Trinidad, saw fires along the coast and called those lands “lands of fires”. These had been lit by the local natives, accustomed to gathering around large bonfires outside their huts, first of all to protect themselves from the cold, but also because, through the smoke and sparks, their prayers would more easily reach the sky and therefore the divinities.
Here in Campania, when fires are lit during a holiday or religious celebration, the wood – by burning – returns the soul of the plant to the sky (according to popular belief) and protects from negative influences. These fires have been the same for thousands of years and fulfill the task of carrying the prayers of the devotees to the sky. Today, the charm of this popular belief has given way, here in Campania, to a denigrating meaning, as the expression “land of fires” has become synonymous with “hell” due to the sad news stories that everyone knows: it is no longer wood that burns, but waste. However, our region is also a land of “sounds”, a land that through its art and, above all, its music has exported history and culture, becoming an essential point of reference over the centuries.
The concert includes songs from our tradition and our land, to which will be added those from the Christmas tradition that have characterized the NCCP over time. Thus, it will be the notes, and no longer the contemporary fires, that will convey our dreams or our prayers, so that they rise clear towards the sky.
