Nine wild birds and exotic ones without identification rings and locked in three cages.
They are the ones discovered at Boscoreale (Napoli) by the carabinieri of the group of Napoli, from those belonging to the Cites nucleus and those of the park group of BoscorealeIt all started with a report regarding the alleged illegal possession of wild and exotic birds. The military went to a commercial establishment for a control service related to the application of the regulations implementing the Washington Convention and more generally to hunting activities. On that occasion, the police found the presence of five specimens of carduelis carduelis (goldfinch), one of coccothraustes coccothraustes (common hawfinch) and three of carduelis spinus (common siskin).
All were without a permanent identification ring on their paw and therefore untraceable, held in three cages. The military therefore reported the owner of the business, aged 35, at liberty for illegal possession of protected fauna. The animals and the cages where the birds were kept were seized.
