It will resume next Tuesday Viterbo the trial of Pasquale Gaeta, known as “Maestro Lino” and of Neapolitan origin, creator of the Qneud community of Acquapendente, a town in the province of Viterbo.
Gaeta presented himself as a psychologist and a game expert, but according to the accusations, sexual abuse occurred in his community against victims recruited by the defendant, accused of sexual violence, mistreatment and unlawful practice of the profession.
Testimony is scheduled for the hearings from numerous individuals, including consultants, law enforcement, a victim, and people close to Gaeta. So far, witnesses who have appeared before the Viterbo Criminal Court Panel have described how the defendant presented himself as a “messiah,” seeking to lure victims into his community and then subjugate them as “sex slaves.”
Virginia Melissa Adamo, the courageous mother who reported Gaeta, will be present in court, assisted by criminal lawyer Vincenzo Dionisi, an expert in sectarian dynamics, and by consultant psychologist and criminologist Sergio Caruso. The hearings, during which witnesses will be heard, are scheduled for February 20, March 19, May 21 and June 20.
Manisco World, an association dedicated to the protection of victims of cults and psychocults, is actively participating in the trial with its president Virginia Melissa Adamo and the team of professionals led by lawyer Luigi Ferrandino.
The latter is working on a bill aimed at combating the abuse of means of mental manipulation and at raising public awareness of the danger represented by psycho-sects.
