There is an incredible backstory behind the arrest of the diabolical couple of Acerra and which led to the arrest of Magdalene Masi, 40 years old, and her new partner Francesco Miranda, 52.
The two ended up in prison and accused of complicity in premeditated and voluntary homicide of Dominic Anthony Vellega, the woman's ex-husband, found charred in his car on March 3 last year.
The Carabinieri of the Castello di Cisterna company, coordinated by the Nola prosecutor's office, who conducted the investigations and who yesterday morning snapped the handcuffs on the wrists of the two, may have also discovered the motive.
It is certainly not of an economic nature, given the victim's standard of living, but rather of passion: because Vellega had just started a relationship with another woman and this would have aroused the wrath of his ex-wife.
Both Maddalena Masi and her new partner Francesco Miranda will have to explain what happened on the evening of March 3, 2022 in the woman's home to the investigating judge at the prison validation hearing.

But in addition to the investigations and a series of errors discovered by investigators, an important contribution was given by two men, father-in-law and son-in-law, who on March 3, 2022 were in the area where the car was set on fire, in via Torricelli in Acerra.
The two had in fact started a Facebook live broadcast to document the fires in an area that falls within the Land of Fires and with their cell phones they filmed the escape of the man who had started the fire.
In fact, the two told the police that the man – in his fifties, with a beard and long hair – was wearing a dark suit with blue latex gloves. The video, shot with a cell phone, was acquired for investigation purposes.
The two witnesses, however, initially explained that they were able to recognize the man and then backtracked. But the blue latex gloves, the same ones found with a gun, during a search of the woman's house, represent one of the evidences against the two and that contributed to framing them.
