A femicide and subsequent suicide shook the quiet winter morning of Agropoli in Cilento.
A 63-year-old man Vincenzo Carnicelli allegedly stabbed his wife Annalisa Rizzo, 43, a bank employee, to death and then took his own life. The two were found lifeless in their home in Agropoli, in the province of Salerno.
According to initial reconstructions, the 63-year-old killed his wife at the height of an argument. The murder-suicide occurred around 8 this morning. The couple leaves behind a minor daughter, 13 years old. The coroner's findings are still underway. The Carabinieri of the Agropoli Carabinieri Company were also on site.
The man was a pizza chef while his wife was a bank clerk. The tragedy occurred in the house on Via Doninzetti, in Agropoli. After killing the woman, the man allegedly took his own life with the same weapon.
He was a pizza chef, while she was a bank clerk.
At home, there was the 13-year-old daughter who, however, as far as we know, was sleeping. The alarm was raised by the woman's mother who contacted the Carabinieri after seeing that her daughter was not answering the phone calls.
However, the investigations of the coroner appointed by the Salerno prosecutor's office, who arrived at the house on Via Donizetti, will clarify the dynamics of what happened.
