Plot twist in the never-ending trial against Angelo Simeoli's family

ASome of the fifty defendants accused of fictitious ownership now seem to be out of trouble, including the clan's building contractor, Antonio Simeoli, who has been released from prison. The powerful Polverino clan in the area Marano-Quarto seems to see the wall of accusations crumble.

The story has been dragging on for a decade, but it seems that Antonio Simeoli is almost completing his sentence, currently under house arrest. Simeoli, also known as “Ciaulone”, is the founder of Sime Costruzioni and owner of other construction companies confiscated by the State. Dozens of informers from the Polverino clan and the Giugliano-Caserta area had testified against him.

Simeoli and his sons are also facing trial in other cases, with requests for heavy sentences and short release. The Polverino clan has seen nearly 150 years of imprisonment requested for 57 defendants, including several members of the Simeoli family.

The fact on which the accusations were based, according to the judges of the court of Naples, does not seem to exist. The situation therefore seems to have had a turning point for Simeoli and his accused relatives. The sentence is expected soon and could prove decisive for the future of the family involved in this complex legal affair.
