“The situation in Arzano is becoming increasingly worrying, where, in recent weeks, dozens of commercial activities have been targeted with robberies and thefts, and it is necessary for the State to make its voice heard, without any hesitation and, above all, without underestimating what is happening”.
The alarm was raised by the Anti-Camorra Committee for Legality, which calls for the intervention of the Prefect "who must turn the spotlight on arzano, a city that, despite the arrests of the last few months, continues to be under the control of old and new clans that want to impose themselves and continue to suffocate small traders and entrepreneurs with extortion”.
“To demonstrate that these are not just acts of 'vagabonds' there are also the thefts carried out with blatant actions using the technique of smashing windows with cars used as 'batters' to enter shops and steal a few dozen euros” continue the representatives of the Committee for whom “it is clear that these are actions that aim to instill fear in shopkeepers rather than take home a loot of a few dozen euros.
Preparatory actions for the next step in which the 'protection' of the clan by paying the pizzo will be proposed”.
“Arzano, like other cities in the metropolitan area of Naples, deserves constant and continuous attention and one cannot and must not think that the arrests that are made from time to time will definitively resolve the situation because the causes of social and economic hardship remain, creating fertile ground for the birth of new clans” they underline, reiterating “the need for repression, but also for crime prevention interventions that have an impact especially on the social and economic level”.
