The ASL Napoli 1 Centro is appealing to the public: don't rush to the emergency room for every health problem, but use the services and facilities that the public health service makes available to citizens.
The appeal is due to the huge increase in cases of influence and the resurgence of Covid cases, which are causing overcrowding in emergency rooms.
"The Regional Health Service - remember the general manager Ciro Verdoliva - provides multiple healthcare options for citizens requiring treatment, both urgent and elective.
A crucial role, in this perspective, is played by general practitioners and private pediatricians, who are the first point of approach to treatment.
"Every citizen can contact any general practitioner who belongs to their doctor's AFT every day, from Monday to Friday from 9 am to 19 pm, and on Saturday from 8 am to 10 am, even if their doctor's office is not open at that time", remember the ASL Napoli 1 Center.
Furthermore, the National Health Service guarantees the Continuity of Care Service (formerly the Medical Guard) for citizens who need non-urgent care or prescriptions that do not require access to the Emergency Room.
The Service is active in the ten Districts of the Municipality of Naples and in the District of Capri Island and guarantees continuity of care by ensuring on-site and home interventions for emergencies from 20:8 PM to XNUMX:XNUMX AM on weekdays., continues the note from the ASL Napoli 1 Centro.
"Proper use of all the services provided by the Regional Health Service," Verdoliva concludes, "enables everyone to receive timely and appropriate care and, furthermore, helps provide the best and most qualified care possible to patients suffering from serious illnesses in hospitals."
Here are some tips to make the best use of public health services:
If you have a health problem, first contact your GP or pediatrician of choice.
If your doctor is not available, you can contact any of the general practitioners who belong to his Aft.
If your problem is urgent, but not serious, you can contact the Continuity of Care Service (formerly Guardia Medica).
If your problem is serious, go to the emergency room.
Remember that the emergency room is a service dedicated to emergency cases, which require immediate intervention. It is not a place to go for every health problem.
