Arzano. Bitter Epiphany for Arzano merchants: the wave of thefts does not stop. Last night the BM fuel distributor on Corso D'Amato was attacked.

The Anti-Camorra Committee for Legality, headed by the Bishop of Naples, Don Domenico Battaglia, and the former members of parliament of the Democratic Party, Paolo Siani and Sandro Rutolo, have invested, after the unstoppable criminal recrudescence that is gripping arzano, directly the Prefect of Naples Michele Di Bari who has already started and scheduled a round table on Public Order and Security after yet another burglary.

After the second burglary in a few days at the “Eugenio Caffè” bar, last night it was the turn of the distributor on Corso D'Amato where the thieves, after having torn down the shutter of the office, took everything that was inside.

A dramatic situation despite the unfortunate reassurances of the mayor Vincenza Aruta who, during her end-of-year speech, had highlighted the groundlessness of the crime alarm, branding the episodes as "physiological" and "petty" crime.

It is an endless escalation of thefts and night raids among traders

Just a few days ago it was the turn of the bar “Vi.Mi.” on via Volpicelli. The thieves first smashed the windows with a car as a battering ram and then broke into the bar, taking away about 7000 euros in stolen goods. Just a few hours before the umpteenth theft, it was the turn of the windows of a shop to be smashed on via Pecchia.

A relentless escalation that has already seen the “HotDog” sandwich shop on Via Sette Re, the Leopollo and Mister Chicken pizzerias, the “Eugenio Caffè” bar and a “Luan” clothing store on Via Sette Re end up in the crosshairs. A singular yet serious sequence of thefts that could hide aspects linked to the 167 clan.
