A surprise for motorists who are forced to drive to work every day using the southern Italian highways. Starting January 18th, there will be a 20-cent increase on the A3 Naples-Salerno highway. The single-journey fare has gone from the current €2.10 to €2,30.
Here is the new price list published on the SPN company website, the company that manages the route affected by the increase:
Class A (Cars and Motorcycles 2,30 euros)
Class B (Trucks-Vans-2-axle buses) 2,30 euros
Class 3 (3-axle vehicles) 4,10 euros
Class 4 (4-axle vehicles) 5,20 euros
Class 5 (Vehicles with 5 axles or more) 5,90 euros
The increases will not be applied to Telepass holders, since in this case the calculation is based on kilometres travelled/exits travelled.
On social media, protests have erupted among users, especially commuters.
