Investigations are currently underway to determine the causes of death of a 46-year-old woman Avellino, mother of two children, died in the Emergency Room of the “Moscati” hospital after being admitted yesterday due to severe abdominal pain.
Diagnostic tests seem to have revealed gastroenteritis without particular criticalities, but the woman's conditions worsened in the last 24 hours, leading to death. At the time of hospitalization, the patient had reported symptoms of vomiting and dysentery to the doctors.
The emergency department officials requested an autopsy. The Public Prosecutor's Office Avellino has opened a file with no current suspects. The medical records have been seized and an autopsy has been ordered to establish the causes of death and ascertain any responsibilities.
