The return of Alessandro Siani e Claudio Bisio in the new film Bentornati al Sud Benvenuti al Sud will soon be back on the big screen with the third and final chapter of the saga, entitled Bentornati al Sud, in which we will see the return of the protagonists to Castellabate.
The director has officially announced that the story for the new film has finally been completed, stating that although numerous stories have been proposed over the years, now is the right time.
The third installment of Benvenuti al Sud is now a reality, with a script that will outline the plot, ready in the hands of both Alessandro Siani and Claudio Bisio, the films' stars. The first two films achieved great box office success in 2010 and 2012, with the sequel Benvenuti al Nord, a remake of the French film Bienvenue chez les Ch'tis, being released.
The title of the new film will be Bentornati al Sud – 15 anni dopo, and the story will see the characters return to Castellabate, in the province of Salerno, where it all began. Alessandro Siani confirmed that the subject of the film has been defined as a first step to move forward with the project.
The director highlighted the current differences between North and South, stressing that although it is no longer a comic theme as in previous films, differences still exist, such as in salary levels. He also talked about how no one believed in the success of Benvenuti al Sud at the box office, recalling when Claudio Bisio predicted that the film would change his life.
He also shared how the success of the film led him to the Sanremo Festival and even to contact with Diego Armando Maradona. The confirmation of the third film in the Benvenuti al Sud saga is a great achievement, and Alessandro Siani shared some thoughts on the success of the first film and the consequences it had on his artistic life.
