They had left two children aged 3 and 5 alone in the house and the eldest, leaning out of the balcony, had fallen from the second floor yesterday morning. In the evening, the parental authority of the non-EU couple living in Caivano, in the province of Napoli, and social services intervened together with the municipal police, taking away the five children and urgently placing them in a foster home.

"I hope the court will review and carefully evaluate the appropriate measures to be adopted, also with humanity." says the lawyer Angelo Pisani, which just a Caivano he dealt with both the Fortuna case and the girls raped by the gang. "In much more serious cases such as that of Fortuna or of little Antonio Giglio I do not remember that such drastic measures were adopted - adds Pisani - And I wonder if a particular family situation, which I'm currently unaware of from neighborhood rumors, had an impact on this case. Adding more pain to pain, in my opinion, is even more dangerous for this unfortunate family because, aside from a criminal record I'm unaware of, they appear to be a family of immigrants who are regularly integrated into Italy, into society, and into the school system.

Meanwhile, the 5-year-old girl remains hospitalized at the Santobono Children's Hospital in Naples. According to doctors, in the fall from the second floor—which was cushioned by clotheslines—she suffered no neurological damage or head trauma, but only external injuries. She is still under observation and her condition will be reassessed today by the children's hospital's medical team. Any damage to her internal organs and skeletal system is being assessed. The positive news is that doctors have ruled out any life-threatening injuries.
