Shocking discovery in a forest in Morano Po near Casale Monferrato, in the province of Alessandria.
A corpse in an advanced state of decomposition was found hanging from a tree on a slope, near an overpass, in the municipality of Morano sul Po: the body was in an advanced state of decomposition. A passerby raised the alarm with the police - as reported by the Carabinieri.
The Casale firefighters, who intervened with the Carabinieri and the coroner, recovered the body.
However, DNA testing will be necessary to identify the remains of the body. A skeleton hanging from a rope that had probably been there for months and could belong to a man – was transported to the morgue for judicial review.
Initial investigations lead the military to consider the hypothesis of suicide but investigations are continuing to trace the man's identity.
