The territory of Caivano continues to be subject to controls to combat illegalities, particularly environmental ones.
Today, thirty men and women of the metropolitan police, together with those of the Caivano municipal police and the competent ASL, conducted a direct action that led to the seizure of 4 businesses for lack of the necessary authorizations.
The agents conducted checks in eleven production activities of various types, between the center and the outskirts of the town. Car body shops, car repair shops, marble processing and iron processing activities were involved.
According to the Authority, 4 businesses have been seized so far and those responsible have been reported to the judicial authorities for crimes against the environment. In addition, 6 judicial police orders have been issued.
Among the most significant findings, it emerged that in a cellar of a mechanical workshop large quantities of waste, both hazardous and non-hazardous, were found, leading to the reporting of those responsible for illegal waste management.
Similarly, the marble processing activity was seized for illegal waste management and for the presence of an unauthorized dump, while the iron processing activity was seized due to the lack of authorizations for emissions into the atmosphere and for the dumping of waste materials from the production processes.
Three cars that had been scrapped more than 15 years ago were also found in a mechanical workshop, leading to the seizure of the workshop for illegal waste management and for the unauthorized discharge of polluting processing waste into the sewer.
Overall, during the environmental checks carried out at the eleven businesses, fines totaling 52 thousand euros were imposed. In addition, traffic police checks were carried out which led to the identification of 84 people and the imposition of 25 Highway Code fines, with 4 vehicles seized for lack of insurance coverage and 4 vehicles suspended from circulation.
