The protagonist of the story is "Effe" a modern-day influencer who, to celebrate reaching one million subscribers to his channel, decides to create a live broadcast different from the others, during which he talks about his rise to success, revealing details that have always been kept quiet of his past and promising his followers to show them his latest work, his "Masterpiece".
"With this show, I tried to reflect on the idea of easy money, a true and omnipresent mania, on the transformation of its troubadours and on their modus operandi in the era of social media. – explains Gennaro Esposito, author and director – Every day, we all witness the perfect, luxurious, and adventurous lives of others while we carry on with our own small existences and precarious jobs. What mechanism is triggered in most people? What is the gut reaction when they see someone else living "the best of all possible worlds" in their place?
By telling the story of the transformation of someone who has made it, of someone who has gone from spectator to spectacle, we try to show all the phases behind the rise of a content creator, but with the focus on life behind the camera, on what is not seen and not known. On the price of fame at any cost, even if only for fifteen minutes.
