Capri, seven Awards for 'Oppenheimer'

In Capri, Hollywood triumphs for Oppenheimer with seven Awards including Best Film, Best Director – Christopher Nolan – and Best Cast, followed by Greta Gerwig’s Barbie (Lina Wertmuller Award) with six and Bradley Cooper’s Maestro with five, while Matteo Garrone’s Io Capitano, shortlisted for the Oscars and nominated for the Golden Globes, wins the title Best International Feature of the Year.

This was announced by Tony Renis, president of the board of the Capri nel Mondo Institute, which this year, the 28th edition, includes artists such as Bobby Moresco, Jim Sheridan, Mike Figgis, Terry Gilliam, Michael Radford, Noa, Alessandro Bertolazzi, Gianni Quaranta, Franco Nero, and Mimmo Calopresti.

Oppenheimer also received the Awards for Best Adapted Screenplay to Nolan, Best Cinematography to Hoyte van Hoytema, Best Film Editing to Jennifer Lame, Best Original Score to Ludwig Göransoon. The other awards for Barbie are: Best Supporting Actor to Ryan Gosling, Best Original Screenplay to Noah Baumbach and Greta Gerwig, Best Costume Design to Jacqueline Duran, Best Original Song "Dance The Night", Best Production Design to Sarah Greenwood & Katie Spencer. For Maestro, Visionary Award to Bradley Cooper, best actress is Carey Mullighan, Best Sound Editing to Richard King, Steve Morrow, Tom Ozanich, Jason Ruder and Dean Zupancic, also wins the Best Makeup and Hairstyling.

Finally, the Capri Producers of the Year Award goes to Bradley Cooper, Martin Scorsese, Steven Spielberg, Fred Berner, Amy Durning, and Kristie Macosko Krieger. Completing the awards are: Best Actor goes to Colman Domingo (Rustin), Best Supporting Actress goes to Da'Vine Joy Randolph (The Holdovers), Best Animated Feature goes to Spider-Man Across the Spider-Verse, Best International Documentary Feature goes to American Symphony (Netflix), and Best European Documentary goes to Can I Come In? An Ode to Naples by Trudie Styler.

And again: Best Visual Effects to Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning, Part One, while the Capri Best Breakthrough Actor is Charles Melton (May December). The festival, founded and produced by Pascal Vicedomini, is realized with the support of MiC (Dg Cinema) and the Campania Region, special partners Intesa Sanpaolo and Givova.
