Military personnel of the Carabinieri Forestry Unit of marcianise, during the performance of an inspection activity aimed at combating crimes against the environment, proceeded with the seizure of a metalworking workshop, located on the outskirts of the municipality of Casapesenna, due to environmental violations found.
At the time of access, the company was in operation, in particular the owner of the business was working on a gate. Inside the business, which was carried out in a room of approximately 100 square meters, in addition to the raw materials and waste produced by the work, the following were found to be present: tools and various instruments.
Among the latter, 3 welding machines were also found, two of which were continuous wire and one oxyacetylene. These instruments produce gaseous emissions for which, for the health of workers and the environment, fume abatement systems are required, which were not found, as well as the necessary regional authorization for emissions into the atmosphere.
Therefore, having identified the integration of the criminal hypothesis connected to the carrying out of an iron processing activity with the use of welding machines in the absence of the required authorization by the Consolidated Law on Environmental Matters, the military, in addition to proceeding with the seizure of the laboratory and its contents, have reported the owner at liberty for the aforementioned criminal hypothesis.
