The trial began in 2021, but the defendant was not heard until December 2023, explaining that he had never used violence against his ex-wife. Among the witnesses examined was a Carabinieri officer who conducted the investigation, who stated that the prosecution's statements were contradictory.
Angelo Librace, the man's lawyer, noted that the woman's statements were also vague and approximate; this reconstruction was accepted by the court, which deemed the accusations not fully credible and acquitted the defendant.
